Last night at about 2:00AM I was in bed and I thought I twisted my body in a way I stretched a muscle in my back and abdomen. I thought the pain would go away and that once the Motrin started taking effect it wouldn't hurt anymore. I was dead wrong. Well to make a story short I spent 3.5 hrs in ER to find out I got my first Kidney Stone. I know my uric acid levels have increasing over the years but as of right now I'm not sure what type of kidney stone I have. I guess I have to wait till it comes out of me.
BTW I've always heard stories of kidney stones. I guess you have to have one to truly appreciate how painful it is.

"Pissing razors" is how i've always heard it described. Good luck man...remember, when it comes to penis pain, it's ok to cry :(

I passed it today so I have a sample to give to them. It ended up being about 3mm and not jagged. If anything I'm lucky about that. I want to prevent myself from having gout so if I can find a way to lower my uric acid level I'll try it.
Thanks for the concern, I feel a million times better now.

if it makes you feel any better ive had 6 since i was 17 and im almost 24 now.my very first one was so large i had a stint for 2 weeks and after i still couldnt pass it with that they went in a took it out but left the stint in for another 2 weeks then i had to go back to the doctor to have that removed.Todays lesson if you have a kidney stone and the doctor says anything about a stint tell them NO!!!!.just have them go in and get the stone then.

Drink alot of fluids, beer included and you are less likely to get kidney stones, but greater risk for gout.
"Beer is good, Beer is good, lets go drink some beer!"
But it does keep the kidneys flushed. Funny, I passed my rock after I hadn't had any beer for almost 1.5 years.

I had a calcium stone. took a week to pass, I couldn't stand up straight because of the pain so I was off work for a week. It seemed to want to move at night so for that week I slept during the day and paced at night. Finally went to a wine festival up here in Dayton and took my vicatin (sp) before I went. Had some re wine samples told the buddies I had to go piss of course I didn't have my strainer and was pissing in the toilet and heard it hit the back so I look around and no one else but a little boy in there who couldn't get out and his mom standing right outside the door so in the urinal I went a fishing for a stone so the doctor could see it. Probably the grosses thing I have ever did. Doc told me it was calcium and asked if I took tums or anything like that and I told him I eat them like candy. That was 2 years ago. Now I take 2 apple vinegar tablets a day to help clear up the other stones they seen in my kidneys on the MRI.

Funny thing is I went to the Dr about a week ago felt like I got kicked in the nuts for 10hrs and then my kidneys started to hurt.
Actually as I type this my kidneys are stabbing, I have had the pain like my Dad had to drop him to his knees. I hope this is worst.

The stabbing pain has been gone since Saturday but their is a dull sore pain still going on. I'm taking my sample to the doctor on Friday. Sorry Dipstick you had to go fishing for yours and Badfbody sorry your going through it now.

My brother had one for months but it finally passed... He said he would feel okay for a while then out of nowhere the pain would be unbearable, and he missed work and it is the 1st time in my entire life that I remember him ever being too sick to go in... Hopefully you pass it soon or else they can remove it with laser surgery. My mom had them not too long ago also so I feel for you!!

Thanks, I passed it actually Saturday which was within 24 hrs of the pain. I feel pretty luckly though I have a dull pain that hasn't gone away yet. I guess I'll ask the doctor about it Friday. I hope your nose and tear duct is healing well.

My pop has had stones and has gout so I guess I am destined for it but so far so good. If he keeps his red meat intake down it makes a huge difference in his Uric acid and flare ups.
Good Luck,
Bill

I have had many patients with this and cried like babies. I never once laughed inside at them. I never had one but have seen people in EXTREME pain. Hope all goes well man.
