I'd say between the motor, filter, thermo cover and odds and ends there is at least $500 worth of stuff.

I'm going to get with my dad how many gallon is the filter? and is it a sand filter?

Filter is a cartridge style and includes the $200 cartridge. Not sure on the gallons but this was for an 24' above ground pool.
