We had been feeding this beautiful stray long haired orange and white cat for a couple of months and eventually she warmed up to us and wanted to be petted and loved on non stop. After thinking it over, we decided she was just too sweet to live on the streets. We decided to bring her in the house and put her in the bathroom with a litter pan to see how she did. If she did well, we were going to try and find her a home. She used it without ever having an issue. So, we moved her into our bedroom to see how she would do in a bigger space with the litter. Again, no accidents and still just as sweet as she could be. We introduced her to our dogs and that did not go well. She was petrified and hissed, growled and ran. She started fattening up and that was good…….so we thought. Guess, what? She was pregnant. So here was the question? Do we try to rehome a pregnant cat and take the chance that someone will end up getting rid of her and the kittens, or do we let her have them and try to rehome them all? Well we decided to let her have them, so now we have a sweet mommy kitty and 4 little ones to find homes for. Mommy would make an older person very happy. She loves to snuggle and sit in your lap all the time. Loud noises and small kids frighten her. I think from living on her own for so long. The four kittens are all female. Here is what we have: a dilute torti (the lover), a long hair beautiful calico(the lover and player), a short hair calico (the talker) and a little bob tail that is almost all white with some calico markings (the troublemaker that is in to EVERYTHING). Kittens are using the litter without ever having an accident or going outside the litter pan. Eating Iams Kitten food on their own without it having to be softened.
If you can give me vet references, this cat and kittens are free to a good home. If not, they are $25. I am working on getting spay vouchers from "SCOOP."
We have not decided yet, but we might be keeping the bob tail and long haired calico kittens as pets. We wish we could keep Mommy but she just does not get along with our two dogs.
