I did a five lug axle swap and was wondering what would be good to fill it up with. I know I need to add some friction modifier right?

I have some Coastal 85w90 for free if you can use it.

Yes, I'm in Cincy, but venture to Dayton and Cbus quite often....since your location isn't listed.

I use Royal Purple in mine. THere is some import parts place in Dayton that I believe stocks it. I picked mine up at Cincy Speed though since it's close to work and they usually have RP stuff in stock as well.

I used mobile 1 75-90 in mine. I also added friction moddifer.

Just did 3.73 with carbon clutch rebuild yesterday.

The Royal Purple is good stuff, I don't think the friction modified is required.
The Ford friction modifier (get it at your local Dealer) is great stuff when added to most any rear end lube.
The BEST stuff I have found thus far is Shaeffer 267 Moly - I use this in both my road race car and my Cobra IRS - I have never had a rear end failure and the Shaeffer's stuff runs 20% cooler than anything else I have previously used.

Have you tried the Amsoil severe duty gear lube? If so, how does that compare?

I have never tried it. Once you find something that works, you tend to stick with it. We used to use the Schaeffer's in the roundy-pounder years ago. - damn stuff is so slippery you can hardly pick up a gear coated with it. NEVER had a gear/lube related issue. I use their oil in my Cobra and race car too, NEVER have had an oil related failure (and the race car saw some extreme temps - drove nearly 3/4 of a lap it to the pits after shedding the water pump belt a couple of years ago and nothing was damaged - even though he temp gage was in the meltdown range!)
