Well Im in the midst of somewhat building my 4.6 Motor, right now Im looking at doing just PI heads/Cams/Intake, bolt ons, and then 100 HP shot of Nitrous. My question is I obviously know not to run slicks so my tranny wont blow, other than that is that to much power for my stock bottom end and stock transmission?(Other than my clutch and flywheel) Thanks, Tyler.

The stock bottom end is good for roughly 450 rwhp. I believe a 100 shot shouldn't be any trouble either. For what combo you're running you should be ok with slicks too. There are allot of guys out there running 400-450 rwhp under stock rear ends and trannys. The clutch may need replaced with something beefier though.

As long as the tune is good you should be fine. You can run slicks or drag radials but don't expect it to last forever. I would say you are probably more likely to break and axle.

I thought I heard 400-450 RWHP on a stock bottom end, just wanted to make sure. I probably wont even have 400 HP to the flywheel on the bottle so I should be good. I was thinking on running some Mickey Thompson E/T streets, but I dont plan on this car being drove everyday so I hope it will still last for a little. So I would be more likely to snap my axle, what can I do other than putting in 9 Inch to help prevent that? Thanks guys.

Why don't you just build the 8.8 that's in your car now? It's cheap, you won't have to do any fab work, and they are a lot more efficient than a 9 in.

a set of good 31 spline axles and a matching trac lok should work well and be pretty cost effective.

That is next on my list to do then, other than that Im just going to get a better clutch and flywheel to help compensate for the power.

bottom end will hold fine. just be careful of nitrous backfires. that intake will blow apart if its bad enough. properly tuned you will be fine. There are quite a few guys out there pushing the 500+ mark with turbo set ups. Its all in the tune and maintenance.

as for the rear build the 8.8. do the axles and some eliminators or 9" ends to keep those axles in place. as for the diff it depends on what you can afford. if your not going big time power get a 31 spline trac loc and have it packed tight. Stick with DRs. Slicks will net you a little better time but the DRs are more forgiving. plus you can drive home on them after a good bout at the track and not have to worry about much besides a heavy rain.

I already have the bottle and most of the hardware for a 100 shot, when I get everything done Im going to purge a shit ton of it at work lol
