View Full Version : Headlight Restore Kit

I was currious if anyone had used the new Mequires headlight kit and if you were happy with the results. My headlights on my coupe are not too bad, just a little yellow.

Havent tried that stuff, but I have a bottle of the blue headlight restoration stuff. It works very minimal to say the least. I would hope the megiuars would be better though.

it works pretty good the key to it is make sure you sand them enough but not to much

I usually just use mothers mag and aluminum polish on my headlights when they start getting yellow. It works surprisingly well.

You usually can sand them with 1500, and hit them lightly with some compound and the buffer. Most of the time, they look ALMOST new.

Ive always used some 3m Finesse It on headlights. Ive also tried that Meguiar's PlastX and it works good as well. I used both with a high speed buffer.

If they are really bad youll definitely need to wet sand them though.

Before you go out and spend some extra on a kit of some sorts, try some regular toothpaste! I've seen Dave B. use some on slightly yellowed lenses and it would clear them up.

Now that is an idea I should have thought of. Toothpaste is also good for cleaning badges.

Yeah man dont need no kit i used sandpaper on mine gotta go light and wetsand it i finished up with 1500 on mine and make sure to mask the edges of your fenders, they look pretty good
