UPR sells a kit to delete the airbags. Couldn't you just take the wheel cover off and the panel on the passenger side, pull the bags and just put the panels back on?

I think the covers are attached to the air bad assembly.

Its been a few years since I had mine apart but I don't remember the cover on the steering wheel air bag is removable.

You would also have to be very careful trying to disassemble one. They contain sodium azide which is can explode and its very toxic. It shouldn't go off with out an electric current but anything is possible.

Ford dealers sell a "mexican airbag" that is just a solid piece to replace the airbag assembly on the steering wheel, it has the pony on it and all that stuff. The panel on the passenger side cover splits down the middle horizontally when the bag explodes.

I believe that the airbag is connected to the cover on the steering wheel and on the passenger side airbag. So you have to buy the delete kit from UPR. Let me know if you want them, I will order them for you.
