Hi guys, I have a clone of the FMS 347, 450 HP motor that's in the FMS catalog. Same Z heads, hyd. roller cam and everything. The cam in that motor is a special grind that was made by Crane (who unfortunately went belly up recently), and I'm guessing was optimized for the N/A setup. It's a VERY rough idling cam, IIRC the lobe seperation angle is around 110 degrees. I'd like to calm the car down a bit for street driving, and to also find a cam that will work well with nitrous. Now, in my investigations, I've found that the Comp Cams "nitrous" cams tend to have a wider LSA, around 114 degrees. Would this calm the idle down? Is there any cams you guys have used that you like for a stroker on nitrous?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
