Then you'll understand this humor.

Customer from Madison WI, just finished going thru his tranny. Was a Honda DX not EX, different ratios and FD.

Lock nut not staked in, bearings walked out of the case, diff bearings on backwards, magnet assembly left out, thrust washer in backwards, yeah some dummy worked on it.

He paid $1000 shipped for the tranny, ran it for 5000 miles and it started to grind third. Convinced him to get it to me via a buddy that was racing at Elkhart Lake. Four hours later ($100) and all is good, plus I changed some of the gearing ($50 in old parts) FD went from 4.06 to 4.25 and I change third from 1.172 to 1.259..........

I have more than four hours into it, but I feel for the guy.......

nice way to prove you need to know who your dealing with and that they know what they are doing with you things. Also a nice way to proove that there are still some very nice people out there. Good job.

I'm sometimes too nice........but then again I don't have a true shop, just working out of moms 22x22 garage.

I don't have the overhead......and can call this a hobby, which it is.

You already need a third gear and a 3/4 slider with blocker rings. Don't let anyone tell you that all you need is a 'synchro', no such thing, those three parts make the synchronizer assembly. If you bring it to our shop, we'll help you out best we can on the price and parts.

rscoupe......THANK YOU!!!!!!

The Honda folks who have rounded the teeth on slider and dog teeth, think just a new brass synchro will fix it.

Synchros don't grind, gears do!
