I've head there's a spacer you can put between the pinion and DS flanges. I don't know about 2". A driveshaft shop will not add length to an existing driveshaft, they will cut the ends and reuse them with a longer tube.

what kind of car is it in and about how long is it center to center of u-joint i can tell you wether it woudl be weaker or not
