Speedo Problem Need Help

My speedometer in my 91 lx 5.0 Keeps going up and down then stops and then goes up again. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? Is it in the speedo itself? Any info would help Thanks

Swap out the cable for a new one.I think there like 30 bucks or some thing.Been awhile since I priced one.
What part of town you live in,if your close Ill give my old one if you want it.
