Need Help!!!

I got my motor in my car the other day and it won't fire all it does is crank. Well the last time it ran it was running really rough and died and would only crank then. I put the same distributor back in and its just cranking. Does this sound like it could be the TFI? Any help is greatly appreciated i am wanting to drive this car again.

Yeah im getting gas... Haven't checked spark yet.. Didn't have anymore time today to mess with it... But the way it acted the last time it ran is making me lean toward it being the TFI... I'm gonna check for spark in the morning when i get off work...

is it a 5 speed? not that this is it but I had a similar situation and the neutral saftey switch came off of my clutch assy and I chased everything in the world trying to fix it...

wire was loose on coil, fixed that.. Cranked it once and it backfired and smoked through the intake... Too much timing? Should i retard it some?

Was 180 degrees out.. Its running now... :bigthumb
