I am replacing the back window of my convertible. Under the cloth there is a piece of foil backed woven support tape that you alsp staple through. Is this common and if so where do I get it. I can't find it on the internet.

I broke the back (glass) out of mine and it cost an arm and a leg to get it replaced. It wasnt so much the glass but the labor of stitching the darn thing back in. I had a place in hamilton about a 1/4 mile north of 129. On the right.

I replaced my top a year or so ago.. if you can find a matching zipper assembly back curtain you can swap just the back glass. I stapled through my vinyl to the tack strip did not use what you are talking about. Mine was an 1987.. I'm pretty sure this was the 3rd top on the car.

I called langdons in Cleves. There suppose to be really good. He said there shouldn't have been any type of tape on the zipper cloth. Thats just more to staple through so I'm going to do it his way. The joke is he wanted 1500 dollars just to install the top. Thanks for everyones response. I really do appreciate it.

yes the year mustang I am refering to was a 98. No zipper or anything nice. Stiched in rear glass with def. The labor was through the roof.
