C4 trans help!?

Trying to figure out if I need a 26 or 28 spline convertor. Any stamps/markings on the trans to let me know what year ect. it's out of?

Options are 24 or 26, You are only going to find 26 spline in any decent converter, if you have a 24 spline trans you have to change the input shaft.

anyway to figure out whats up without dropping the trans right now? I need the car as a dd right now till i get the beater going.

None that I know. THe original trans ID tag could probably be looked up at a ford dealership ,but getting someone to do that kind of legwork would be difficult. DO you know what the transmission was originally out of?

wish i did. the trans was in the car when I got it and same with the last guy.
