 So I bought my car with a transmission problem. 3rd gear was bad, the 3rd synchros, and the clutch were obvious suspects. So just a month or so ago we had everything replaced, and all the gears and parts were like new. So now, its only been a few weeks, and its not drivable. 1-2 wouldnt go in right, and would grind sometimes. And then today something rattled totally loose or is about to come apart...cool. So all the other mods to my car will wait for a long time, if I dont sell it. Its just total BS. I hear a lot of people have problems with 1-2 on the shitty 3650s. The car hasnt been beat on or anything... so with my little rant aside, anyone know of any TRUSTED, PROFESSIONAL, and preferably cheap transmission guys/shops around the Dayton area?

not in dayton, but outlaw motorsports 513-732-3244 has done quite a few
Doesn't sound like Tremecs fault, seems like the person who did the worked F'd something up.
Plus, everything I've seen from you, leads me to believe your driving could be part of the problem.

So you buy a used car that has a known bad transmission, you replace parts inside that transmission, but everything "looked good", and you make the assumption that the transmission maker is the problem?
My TKO II hasn't given me one single issue, and I beat the snot out of that car every time I drive it.
You're the kid that drives his car around all the time without a license, right?

no, I did NOT know the transmission had any problems when I bought it. The test drive did not show any signs, but the drive home sure did. Everything was fixed fine, and the transmission was great but then a few weeks later, the whole 1-2 deal started. Ford has had thousands of problems with this, and didnt do a thing about it, except sell a pricey kit to fix it. The 3650s are know for this problem, and a few other problems, but I didnt know that when I bought the car. And though the title sates different, ide have to agree ive only heard great things about the TKO.

I hate them, notchy as hell. I think the T56 is the way to go if you need overdrive and have to have a manual.

Yes, I have heard they are notchy and not the smoothest, but most people dont care because they have them in a drag car, but mines not a drag car.

I had a great TKO 600 that got dicked up from a shitty Steeda clutch cable. Steeda replaced the cable at no charge, Spec re-surfaced my pressure plate because they screwed me, and Dayton Performance did the R&R of the tranny internals as well as the clutch and cable reinstall. I've put 30 miles on that thing one quarter at time now and had no issues. Have Dayton Performance fix it and be done with it.
And by the way, my TKO w/ Pro 5.0 shifter and Rick Terry's customer shifter extension shifts like butter. I haven't missed a gear in over 80 passes this year. And, I'm more consistent than an automatic to boot.
