Are they making out with each other at lunch? If not I really wouldn't worry about it. My co-worker that I share an 8x8 cubicle with had it over a month ago. H1N1 is just another example of the media blowing things way out of proportion.

They may be !!! :bigthumb I need to ask for pics...
I don't buy into all the hype either Cam, But if you look at who it hits the hardest are children with respiratory problems ... And I have a 6 year old with severe allergies and asthma and a 17 month old with asthma, So it does concerns me a little !!!

The h1n1 is a strain of the flu but it isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. It is just a new strain of a virus. Stay healthy, eat right and you will pull through just like any other time you get the flu.

H1N1 is just another strain of the flu. Every year people get a flu shot its for the previous years strain. H1N1 is only an issue if you are already immune depressed. Also you can die from complications with the regular flu if your immune depressed. Take the same precautions you take with the regular flu and everything should be fine. The media is just running crazy with this thing.

The mother in law went to the docs yesterday, doc looked at her, told her to cough and said oh you have H1N1. WTF riiiight. so she saw another doc there and low and behold she just has the flu. Although we arent going around her until she's better. Still irritating.

Yes but in limited supply currently and it is being government regulated. 6 month old to 24 year old people are first in line and all qualify. 25 year olds to 65 year olds are next in line but only if the government thinks you need it. Swine flu or H1N1 actually first showed its face in the 70's so a lot of the older people have actually been exposed to it at one point or another and aren't at a big risk of getting it. Also it actually in a healthy person is not as bad of a strain as the typical flu. The media just don't talk about any of this because they love to feed us bullshit in hopes that we will watch their show all the time because we are scared to death of what is happening.

my boss's son had the flu, showed signs of h1n1 ~ they kept them on lock down for a week ... the entire family couldnt leave the house, this was back in early august ... they had the wife and kids crying, it was quite sad ...
i took tamiflu (75mg) last winter when i had the flu, it really weakened the flu ... almost to a bad cold effect ... good stuff ...

Aaron, quick, go by a bunch of visqueen and a case of duct tape and a staple gun!
Make a quarrantine room and shove your wife in there and lock the door and seal it off!
Just be ready when you let her out...you may think the virus has morphed your loving wife into a raging mutant, but that will pass after she gets a good taste of human male blood!
Seriously though Aaron, I hope she doesn't drag it home to your kids...the H1N1 does get deep into the lungs, and causes respiratory problems more so than the 'regular' flu. Get those kiddies to the Doc asap for the H1N1 vaccine if you can.

I WILL NEVER AND HAVE NEVER GOT A FLU VACCINE OF ANY TYPE just my .02

The vaccine is just the DEAD virus itself and will NOT give you the the flu. Your body starts building up and attacking the dead virus so when the LIVE virus comes knocking your body is more prepared. But this doesn't mean you will not get it. Peoples bodies are different. Some people would get sick even if they lived in a bubble their whole lives. I know doctors and nurses alike that get the vaccine along with their kids. If it was a joke I think they would be the first to stop getting them. My .02.

I may have had it and not known. Was sick two Sundays ago for 3 days. Wife got sick after I did. She was tested and has it. She hasn't been to sick. It just seem like I had a mild case of the flu for 3 days. She wasn't all that bad either. I guess I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I read this and just laugh. Was in a meeting last week with NKY Health District. I work at a ff/medic, they stated that IF you have the flu, you are going to be told its the H1N1 flu. This is because it's not flu season yet, therefore that is what they are telling you. Everyone that says they are tested and have it, ask them the cost of the test. It is 450 dollars to 500 dollars for the test AND insurance DOES NOT pay for the test at all. Also, the nasal spray vacine, it does have a SMALL amount of the LIVE H1N1 in it. It is a dose so small you should not know it other than you might feel a little under the weather for a day or so, then you will be fine. And lastly, H1N1 is not that bad. What people are dying from the in the infection you get in your lungs from H1N1. Trust me, I know, had a run for a very young man last week that died from the infection before we got to his house!

I woke up Friday not feeling too great, but went to work. I lost my voice as the day went on. I woke up Saturday sneezing, and ended up sleeping most of the day. Vinny's sis was at my house and ended up going back to Akron because her daughter was running a temp (I was not). Yesterday I felt like crap all day. I went to bed at 8pm last night and slept until 5am this morning, went into work, called my doc at 8am and got an appointment for 1:30. He comes in, does some tests, and informs me I have the "swine flu". I started crying when he told me that! I am on Tamiflu for 10 days ($60 WITH my insurance). I have been asleep all day, and I'm getting ready to head back to bed, and not allowed to be around people for 36 to 48 hours. I have a nonstop headache, body hurts all over (especially my back), throat is RAW, still sneezing, chilled (but still no fever, he said I still may get one) and the room is constantly dizzy. I have no idea who I came in contact with that had it. Apparently my age group is "almost" immune to it, he said if I were a few years older, I probably wouldn't have gotten it.
I wish I would have stayed home from the cruise-in yesterday, I was in contact with so many people. I feel really bad about that.
Back to bed....

My wife's sister has had it. She was in the ER last week with a 104 temperature and has bronchitis to boot. Rachel and I, my dad and step-mom have all been sick over the last week. Thankfully we all seem to be on the mend but there is definitely some nasty stuff floating around, that's for sure!

Well my mom was just told she had it by her doctor and she in return ask how he knew without running the test to confirm she had it. He said it was to early for other flus so that must be what she has. But her doctor told her not to sit around to much, try and keep busy and moving so the infection in the lungs will not set it.

I'm just getting over it. Doctor took a swab and stuck it up my nose and came back and said yup you got it.
Kills me that when I went to the doctors office they had a sign on the door that requested that if you had a cough or any signs of flu that you wear a mask and there was a box of masks right there and still there were people there hacking up a lung and not wearing them. I still wore one

The H1N1 is not new. It is a strain of flu that has been here in the 70's and 80's. Most people are going to be fine but as always the media and government are hyping it up to make money. I work for Walgreens and we will be getting the h1n1 shots as soon as the state releases it to us. Should be within the next few weeks.
I would recommend anyone to get one that is under 24 or pregnant. Other than that just be mindful of your surroundings and your own health and you will be fine.
