Take a drive to Camp Dennison. Probably the most unique restaurant in the Cincinnati area. The food is absolutely fantastic. You MUST try the good old fashioned fried chicken. If you haven't tried the Schoolhouse, you're missing something. :bigthumb

You also get plenty of food to fill yourself without a big price tag. I have had a lot of their food and have always left full.

sneak around and check out the rest of the old schoolhouse building. its actually a very interesting place.and yes it is very good...

Up till last year a few of the waitresses still smoked.... While serving you your food.

It's a lot better now, that place makes cracker barrel look futuristic. Good food and good portion sizes at a reasonable price, you cant ask for much more than that.

They have great chicken liver too. Their house dressing is pretty good as well.

I can't remember when it was (obviously pre ban) but I have only worked on Wards Corner for about 5 years. I Dont remember her name but she was an Older lady (not that it limits it down much) less than 5 ft. tall with short curly white hair. She was on a smoke break when our food was ready and decided to bring it to the table without removing the newport from her mouth. I thought it was a fluke but it happened again the next month. Both occurences were at lunch. I haven't seen her in at least a year down there maybe more.

Still a unique place, and I still go there regardless of it.

Chicken livers are spectacular! They're fried chicken is legendary. They're sides are very very good. The corn fritters, the cooked carrots (normally, I hate cooked carrots), the stewed tomatoes (to die for) and the cole slaw. My wife tells people she doesn't like coleslaw - I've seen her eat 3 helpings of the slaw at The Schoolhouse.
Suddenly, I'm real hungry! :)

Recess is over!! The Schoolhouse Restaurant has been closed for a couple of months due to a kitchen fire. Glad to report it is re-opening tomorrow, 10/14.

It's been WAY TOO LONG since I've had any of that fried chicken. YUM! :D
