Besides the obvious axle length difference is there any difference in the housings themselves between fox 8.8's and 94-98 SN95 8.8's?

Axel tube length, the axels are longer also plus the break spacing is 3 3/16 compared to the fox 2 1/2. If you narrow the 94-98 housing 11/16 on each side it will fit perfectly in a fox with typical 5 lug wheels. Hope this helps...

I'm actually wanting to put the 8.8 out of my fox into my 98 and doing something more "serious" for my fox as I don't think the stock 8.8 is going to hold up. I was going to throw some SN95 axles in my 8.8 in my fox and throw it in my 98, then build a killer 8.8 for my fox.

Wouldn't the tubes and the axles have to be longer? Got my interest, as I twisted the shit out of my rearend at Kilkare the other night.

Needed: '99-'04 axle housing, please PM.

Not necassarily. Guys run SN95 axles in fox 8.8's all the time.

No, the sn-95 and up axles are longer to accomodate the disc brake setup.
