was told it had a grind between 2-3 but not sure. I will get pics and the numbers off of it tomorrow. $40

I am not sure on that... the tag not on the trans anymore and I cannot verify it.

Is there any other way to tell except for the metal tag?
There are 3 different numbers on it.
The top one is 13-52-097-913

Where the pilot bearing sits it should be 1-1/16” around to be a v8 trans.
