I have been converting over a 4cyl hatch into a v8. Many many headaches and smashed fingers! Today I am ripping out the 7.5 rearend and the damn bolts holding the lower control arms are stuck. I get out my homemade breaker bar (just 1.5 inch black pipe). Bam the bolt breaks and smash my damn thumb again! Oh well atleast one side is loose now. I only have the other side to try another day! Then I get to take out the 8.8 out of my parts car- hopefully that will go smoother, but with my luck it will be the same story.
Oh Well I guess I need a banner that reads busted knuckles required in this garage.

By the time you are done, you can smash your entire hand and you won't feel a thing. My project went like that for a while too!!!

which one do you prefer. smashing knuckles or breaking a bolt only to cheese grate then across the radiator?

Yeah old bolts are a bitch. Luckily we had access to a plasma cutter when we did mine!:)

I do not have many tools especially a plasma cutter! I would cut my arm off with it some how. Maybe I can pick up a torch and heat it up then try the other side.

PB Blast is your friend. A small map gas torch from home depot goes a surprisingly long way on oxidized hardware... Good luck

I can't wear gloves when I'm doing much, but when taking apart seized bolts and rusty stuff like that, mechanics gloves are worth their weight in gold. If they save you just one gouge or cut, you'll know it!

I think Santa needs to bring you an air compressor and an impact

Wish I had a garage big enough to do work in. I would have busted knuckles as well. Do enough of that though working on servicing CNC machines. Feel your pain.

BTW, I heard that they are going to stop making PB Blaster because of environmental BS. Is that true or just a wives tale?

I've noticed that we carry a few different types of PB blaster at my store now. The origional stuff is great.
