Every thing bolts up but the cross member. You have to cut the spot welds and slide it back on the bushing mounts as the mount on the 3550 sits farther back

What bell housing do you have the bells are diff. the centering hole is smaller on a T-5 My McCloed has interchangible centering rings, not sure about other bells though.

Def make sure the adaptor ring you use is tried out on the bearing retainer for a snug fit first, as it can make a mess if you use the wrong one. The T5 one will allow a tremec to move all over the place and do some damage. the cross member just needs the spot welds on the tubes ground or cut so the tubes will slide and allow the crossmember to move back, drive shaft will work and so will clutch.
