Thinking real hard about throwing something together over the winter.. Plans would be , build a carbed motor with nice heads good intake and carb, 5 speed car.. problem is i am clueless, Thought about the gt40 heads and small cam route but hell why not spend a lil more , figured forged 302 , vic jr's and vic jr intake, what would be a good cam to go with and what about carb? any help would be apprieciated.. Also car would be gettin fuel injected and a small turbo kit on it next year, just want something to play with over the summer figured that would be easiest route , is to find a 4cyl car do the swap and have fun with it...

First off figure out what kind of rpms you would like to run, take your max rpms multiply that by engine displacement then divide by 3456. That will give you the carb cfm you need to run the engine without being to much carb or too little. Now keep in mind thats 100% volumetric effiency, on a typical street car your only going to use 80% volmetric effiency.
So Lets say your going to run a 302 thats balanced and can turn 7500rpms safely and thats where you'd like to put your max rpms you take the 302x7500 and get 2265000 now divide that by 3456 and you get 655.38 so typically you would look for a 650 cfm carb because your only operating at 80% VE so that would put you at 524.30cfm. But if it was typically used for racing and was going run 95% VE you'd be at 622.61 cfm.
The cam is going to be up to your needs, do you want more power down low and run less rpms or do you want the power to come in later with more revs?
Anyone else want to chime in and help out i might be a little rusty with the carb numbers but thats just off the top of my head, please feel free to correct any mistakes that i might have made.
