helping my bussy with his 2.3t fox, the problem is it keeps overboosting, you can feather the throttle and it will be fine but if you floor it the boost just keeps goin up and will spike up to around 20 25 and backfire, and help please? he allready has a boost controller and i think the vaccume lines on the turbo are messed up, the car is soposed to have a svo swap in it but i am not sure, it is non intercooled, any help would be great!!1 thanks!

What kind of boost control? Just for starters, disconnect the boost controller and plug vacum line, unless the wastegate spring or rod length has been changed the wastegate should open at about 10 psi. I THINK!! I know my stock IHI 2.3 worked this way. Could the back fire be caused by a lean condition when under boost?

Definitely sounds like your WG lines are messed up. Totally eliminate the controller and let us know what happens.

well I guess I will just post em up then..... not the greatest since taken with phone and it was dark...... these are of an 86 SVO

Here is a link I found with some pics of a TC motor or a different year SVO.... looks quite different from what I took pics of (at least the intercooler runs differently) but it might help.... (the 6th post has the pics)
