That sucks.... like rixxx93gt said, been there, done that... it's like chicken pox on steroids... and they aren't something to mess around with... big time pain... probably 20 years ago to the day was when I had em... Hope you get some pain relief....:)

I take it you have been to the doctor to get on the steroid treatment, the quicker you get those in your system the better. They actually make a vaccine but if you have already had shingles I dont think it does any good.

Now I know why they prescribe narcotics for the pain.....now if only I could have some....

It can be very dangerous especially for pregnant woman, you can have permanent blindness if spread into your eye. Its a debilitating pain, and can cause permanent nerve damage in the facial areas. Its a herpes virus that is a derivative of chicken pox not the venereal disease . Lays dormant in your spinal cord until triggered (stress, sunburn, low immune system or for no good reason at all) and then whammo!
