Hi
Anyone have any experience with twin clutches. Haven't been happy with my spec 2+ and CYN-R-G flywheel seems like it slips at the track all the time.
Thinking about a RST Clutch assembly from McLeod Industries (http://www.jegs.com/p/McLeod/McLeod-RST-Street-Twin-Clutches/935992/10002/-1) McLeod RST Street Twin Clutches

a softer than stock pedal effort, this assembly drives like the stock clutch.

Fidanza's Twin Disc Clutch Kit (http://www.fidanza.com/NewProducts.aspx)

Pedal feel is virtually unchanged and engagement is as smooth as our 3.2 kevlar single disc unit.

The only one I've had experience with is the McLeod. I was driving a car of a friend of mine while tuning it in AZ and thought he had a really nice stock clutch. I couldn't figure out how it was holding up to that kind of power at the track until he told me what it was.

So the McLeod is very nice and does what it says it does, but I have zero experience with the Fidanza.

Oh, and if you go with the McLeod, make sure you don't mess up the order of the spacers it comes with. They're extremely important to have correct.

Why not the spec dual disk? They are excellent. Johh has one behind his 700 hp car and it doesn't flinch behind the power and it has a very light pedal. Just asking.

No real reason ...... didn't see it in my search. Have a spec now and not happy. I will look at them. leaning toward Fidanza I have a alum flywheel and might be able to either use it or trade it in.??

Great comments anyone else using one or have info??

Hi
Did some looking about $300 to $400 more for the spec super twin than the others?

I know the Spec twin disc comes with its own flywheel, a standard single disc flywheel aren't compatible with twin disc clutches.

I love my Spec twin disc. The pedal feel is very good and it holds up to everything I've thrown at it so far. Hope this helps.

ACT also offers a really nice twin disk set-up, retails for 1200 bucks. If it was my car, I would put another single in it at your power. There is nothing wrong with some slippage, its better out of the hole, and your drivetrain will thank you.

The McLeod RST series twin disk is compatible with the stock flywheel. Avaliable for the tremec 3650 (10 spline input shaft config). Cheapest price I have found for the setup is $689.99.

The Roush disk is $325,00. Replacement pressure plate from Ford $275.00. (I am surethe pressure plate can be had cheaper elsewhere.)

1.) McLoed RST twin disk package being discussed.

2.) Roush P51 clutch disk using a stock pressure plate.

Both are receiving great feedback on the forum websites and are holding up. Not the same can be said on the Spec clutches with respect ONLY to the S197 config.

I have to agree with Jason on this. I see no reason at all for a twin disc setup for your car. You just need to get a proper setup single for your car. I have never saw anyone have really good luck with that cyn-r-gyn flywheel and its puck design. I think if you switched over to a single ACT setup, Pressure Plate and Flywheel that you would be very happy. That or a Spec Stage 3+ and one of there flywheels.

Been there a few times! My spec 3+ was the only one that lived without problems...went 10 teens 3600lbs and pedal wasn't to bad...wife still drove it.
