Doesn't the V6 Camaro already have 300hp?
I drove an o5 mustang v6 a while ago and was very impressed with the power it had. I would def drive a convertable v6 new body as a daily driver when I move to florida

The Carmaro does have a 300hp v6 but it weighs probaby 400-500lbs more than a v6 stang will. Who ever thought that the base v6 Mustang would run mid mid 13's?

The Performance Model
What V6 Mustang are we most eager to drive? The new Performance Package model, which is scheduled to go on sale next August, as it promises to provide increased grip and go. For starters, the Perf Pack borrows the uprated front struts and rear shocks/springs from the V8 GT model, along with its thicker front and rear anti-roll bars and the rear lower control arms from the Shelby GT500. Also included is a 3.31 axle ratio for better acceleration, model-specific 19-inch alloys wrapped in Pirelli summer rubber, more lenient stability control programming with a dedicated sport mode, as well as a strut tower brace and the usual assortment of badges.
How will street spotters identify the new V6 Mustang? If the dual exhaust isn't enough of a tip-off, you'll probably have to check the glass. For 2011, all Mustangs get nifty integrated blind-spot mirrors – and if you peek inside the driver's side window, you might catch a glimpse of the new-look instrument cluster which features a 160 MPH speedo and an 8,000-RPM tach.

Im glad to see the improvements and let's face it with a 300hp V-6 camaro they had to do something, but that only leaves us stockish fox guys that much farther down the power ladder. They also said 30mpg's, Once again Im all about better economy and power but I get the feeling that soon I'll be that guy at the cruisin's sporting the lightly breathed on 289 in a 66 coupe talking bout when they "used to build cars." I'lljust be sporting a Fox hatch with bolt-ons instead.
Its true... Jealousy is a terrible thing:)
No doubt. the hp coming out of motors and weight redictions are scary compared to the cars of the 60s and 70s. I will always love those old muscle cars with their "fast" 14 sec 1/4 mile times. Makes me wonder what we will see in another 40 years.

Nice to see a v6 get some hp stock, technology is getting crazy. I hope in 40 years we are still sitting at the track talking about hp and not how many volts or how much hydrogen compression a car is pushing or something along those lines.

This is great and all but if they jack the cost up to what a 2 year old GT would cost then hell no. Base around $19,995, sure, maybe. I'm affraid we'll see this for $25k+. No thanks!

Thats exactly why I did my swap...I can put 1/2 tank of 93 in, drive to E20, do 5 passes, drive it home (spiritedly) and use less than an 1/8th of a tank while making 420 RWHP. My old 5.0 set-up with a 150 shot would chew through 1/2 a tank or more in the same trip!!!!

I hope Ford applies the same technology to the Coyote. 2011 GT 5.0L DOHC V8 with "Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing" = sold to me.
