If you are going to go to the effort of converting it to a V8 go with an a 2V 4.6 out of an explorer. On the other hand you can pick up a nice 96-98 GT for little more than a song these days.

yeah i know that but i dont really want to get rid of my car. its my first car. it was totaled when i bought it so it kinda has value to me. i just want a v8 in it and i can get a whole car for $250.

Hey Adam check the Classifieds on here. I just seen PI Heads/Cams/Intake for that Non-PI motor for $300. Seems like a hell of a deal. Those Non-PI motors only made around 215 HP and 285 TQ, put the PI top end on it and it'll bump you up to around 260 HP and 300 TQ. Using a PI top end on a Non-PI block also bumps up your compression from 9:5:1 to 10:5:1 IIRC. Could be wrong on those exact numbers though.

After the Pi swap and only a set of long tubes with a tune my car made 259 rwhp. It's definitely a worthwhile swap if you are going to the trouble of converting from a V6 to a V8.
