I have currently have a 94 530i. It has the same DOHC V8 as your 740i. It's just the 3.0L version of it. Just got rid of a 318i for my 530i.

a friend of mine is going to sell his he's had some issues, currently I think it needs a fuel pump but I havent checke it yet........ just for the price I'm most likely going to buy it and was just curious if there was anyone on here familiar with them that I might be able to lean on for some knowledge........ it's a great looking and riding car I'm just not sure how reliable they are.......

sweet thanks! Right now it's having a starting issue like I said I think it's the fuel pump it cranks just doesnt seem to be getting fuel..... so I'm going to check the fuel pump relay and I'm not sure if I can check fuel pressure at the rail or not do you know?

Definitely sounds like a fuel pump issue.

Do you hear it "initialize" when you turn the key to the ON position ?

Amyways, I would sign up for the BimmerForums and post your questions there. Those folks know Bimmers like Stangbangerz know Mustangs.
