My project for the winter is to completely rebuild my front end and with the help of Jesse and the great job of welding he did all i have to do now is put everything back together. Since i have the car apart anyways i began looking at some of the wiring plugs that are no longer plugged into anything mostly egr system, smog,ac. Has anyone taken the time to cut the wires not in use to clean up their engine compartment? For example my obd1 plugin is still there and i have never hooked it up for codes nor will i think i will ever. I have searched out where the wires lead but just not sure if its a good idea to start cutting. Any comments would be helpful my car is an 85 and i don't intend to install ac ever again

Get a wiring book for your year and model. You should be able to cut alot of it out.

I don't think I'd go cutting your obd1 plug...

Honestly, What I would do if it was mine, I'd find all the uneeded plugs, fold the harness back and electrical tape itself to the rest of the harness. Looks factory and a lot cleaner than dangling wires and plugs.

Plus, even though you don't plan to ever use the stuff again, plans change, and if you ever need it, you have it. And in original uncut condition.

you could also try taking any loose wiring and taping it to other fatter harnesses, and even go so far as buying some black plastic wire loom and hide the majority of it.

I kinda was thinking of going that route also.
