Anyone know how those come out of the heads? And more importantly... how in the world they go back in and stay in?

My crossover tube was bent on the Hot Rod after the deer accident and I need to replace it.

Thanks!

It bolts to the alt.Sometimes they are a bitch to get out.Just keep wiggling it back and forth. They have rubber o rings in them too.Just put some grease on them when ya put it back in.

Mine wasnt bolted to the alternator... I replaced the alt this past january and never had to unbolt the crossover tube...

I had a mark8 motor here at the house on a stand and the crossover tube is pretty much the same as on my cobra.I think that motor was a 94

I think so of them bolt to the head instead of the alternator

Either way there are 2 bolts holding it down. Take them out and wiggle for awhile. If it hasn't ever been out it will be a bitch.

I think on my Lincoln Mark motor it was bolted to the intake, I just cut the brackets of and moved them so they bolted to the alt like Jim said

Oh okay... cool I'll check that.. I looked at it and it sorta had me wondering what held it in when the coolant temp and pressure built up, lol

My car is a '93...

Hey if you guys got any mark 8 motor parts that you are just going to throw away let me know... I need oil pans and intakes and pretty much everything that doesnt work in a mustang... Oil pans are getting scarce for these cars.

I will have a pan in a month or so, I'm going to go aftermarket before the season starts.

I'll have to see if I can remember I think i gave the guy $25 for it. Looks good, a coat of paint wouldn't hurt but it isn't all beat up from removal and will seal.
