Just wondering if anyone on here collects Hot Wheels? I am a collector and am always looking for Mustangs that I dont already have. I plan on putting up a nice acrylic display case in the garage this summer to display all of my Mustangs. I stop at several stores in the area on a daily basis looking for the hard to find Hot Wheels. It's really difficult to get the good ones due to the fact that most dont make it to the pegs because the employees stash them away to either buy and sell or for friends to do the same. Anyway, I would like to know if their are any collectors on here and how there hot wheel hunting is going. I mainly collect Muscle Cars!

I collect! Not as much as I used to. I have some from way back in the early 80's when I was a kid. I am 32 now. I didn't start leaving them in the package until about 5 years ago lol.

I collected them growing up, and still love them. They're all stashed away in the attic at my parents house. I've fallen out of the hobby in the past few years, mainly b/c my real cars can't seem to stop sucking my wallet dry  My in-laws got me a pretty cool 45th anniversary mustang pack of Hotwheels. It has an older coupe, a fox, an SN, a modular, and an S197. I liked it b/c I'd never seen a foxbody Hotwheels before. The last time I went on a real goosechase for one was way back when I got my Don Garlitz Dodge Ram. I was like 11 years old at the time. I thought I had struck gold when I found it lol

Yeah, I am glad they finally came out with a fox bodied car. I believe it is a purple 92 GT, it will be available as a single later in the year. I plan on buying several of them and repainting several of them different colors for my display. There are some cool 65 fastbacks in about 6 different colors. My problem is I cant just buy 1 of each car I like. I usually end up buying several of the same car which drives my wife crazy. Went to target last night and ended up buying 4 of the new Thunderbolt that is out. If they would of had 10 I would have had to buy all 10. I guess its an addiction. I have totes upon totes of cars unopened. I usually open 2 of each, I for the kids to play with and 1 to display. We also like to race them down the home made drag strip.

Is it just the Hot Wheels you collect? I used to collect all sorts of die cast cars but my kids snuck in and took most of them. I do still have some and would sell everyone. Most of mine are Mustangs and Fords.

Yeah, I mainly collect hotwheels. Would be intersted in seeing what you have for sale and how much. Pm me a list / photos and price if you get a chance.

I am not a collecter but my son has a whole bin full of them. He plays with them all the time so most are scratched and dented with at least 2 wheels tilted. The detail is getting better on them even in the last year or so.
I would really like a fox coupe hot wheel. Haven't seen one, ever.

It's a sickness I tell you! I started "collecting" these back in the mid-nineties, pretty much just getting the ones that I liked. Then I was just gravitating to Mustangs and Fords in all makes and various sizes. I have bins of them and dresser draws with them and a stash of them in our closet. Been trying to cutback and even try to put some on ebay on every now and then but that takes effort! ;)

Yes, trying to find the regular and super Treasure Hunts out in the wild around here is darn near impossible. Plus you have some of the retired guys (I'm not there yet!) who can come in after midnite or at the butt crack of dawn to find cars even reduces the chances of finding the rarer ones that much more difficult. Don't know if you are aware of this site http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/ or not but it is pretty informative. BTW, I once posted about a Treasure Hunt at a local store that I had found and since then have not been able to find anymore there. Won't make that mistake again.

I guess I am the odd ball here. We played with hot wheels and match box series cars. We built roads in the dirt in the yard and played crash up derby on the hardwood floors and built ramps to jump them with hotwheels track. We had loops, hotwheels race tracks, and then there were the powered hotwheels that you plugged into a charger. After the cars charged you raced them on a high banked two lane track. The first to compelte 20 laps on the lap counter won. Then there was the hotwheels power shifter series track. THe BIG DOWN SIDE WAS THE DAY MOM FIGURED OUT THAT THE HOTWHEELS TRACK MADE A GOOD SUBSTITUTE FOR A SWITCH WHEN YOU GOT INTO TROUBLE. MAN THOSE THINGS COULD STING YOUR BUTT!!!!

I wouldn't say i'm a collector but i buy a lot of Mustang scale cars (hotwheel size or whatever). I've got probably 20 or so..nothing major. I'm more into collecting '80s toys like Stompers.

Since we're on the subject, do you know anything about the Hotwheels '92 LX they put out in a 5 car package? It's purple with some tribal stuff on the side. Do you know if they plan on releasing it in a single car package? I bought the 5 car pack just for that car but i'd like to have it by itself.

Yes, they are releasing the 92 Mustang later this year in the single pack. I hope to find some, its about time they release a fox bodied one. Do you have a lot of Stompers? Those are pretty hard to find and usually expensive. I had some years ago, but none now.

I've probably got 25 complete trucks and maybe a dozen or so that are either missing parts or bodies. I've got a complete sled pulling playset which is extremely rare. I've also got probably 10 Rough Riders which were the Stompers competition. I spent a fortune on ebay years ago for them.

Wow. I did not realize there were this many collectors on here. I got into collecting a few years ago, but have let up the past few years. I am more into redlines than the newer stuff, but I have most of the variations of the 05 GT including the HTF blue 10pack one. Here are a few pics of the junk I've snagged over the years.
