My Cherokee has a cracked manifold...it's not bad but i've been told that it causes the O2 sensors to go out, and mine needs the sensors replaced. I've replaced them in the past but they're bad again so i'm looking to replace the manifold. I know there's some Jeep guys on here...how difficult is it to swap out the manifold and can i do it in the driveway? Also can someone recommend a good replacement or am i safe with Autozone/Advanced replacements? I'd rather not spend $500 on a Thorley header.

Ebay is probably the best place to find a new one. Just look thru enough of the ads until you find the best price with shipping. I believe Autozone and Advance was overpriced when I looked there. Not too bad of a job, Gotta feel for the lower bolts.... can't see them.

Yeah i found a couple websites listing them for around 90 bucks, and Autozone wants like 190! Does anything need to come out to make clearance to get it out? Also am i gonna have to jack the front end up or is stock ride height high enough to clear the ground coming out?

It comes out the top after you get the goofy intake off.

get the APN manifold! Mine is cracked somewhere and might be the reason my pos cherokee is throwing a lean code and killing my fuel mileage. its getting around 6mpg right now!!! i ordered a APN manifold and some gaskets for the intake too. search around on jeepforums or Naxja and you'll find a ton of info

It really isn't that bad...just a very slight ticking sound. I may just hold off until i have the cash for a nice aftermarket header instead of buying a factory replacement that'll likely crack in the long run too.
