A hurst ball wont fit on a tri-ax handle?? Good thing you said something I was about to try it on a buddy's car...

nope and a triax handle won't fit on a hurst shifter either the bolt hole are further apart and larger, the threads on hurst shift ball are too small.....

I ordered a billet knob from UPR a few years ago and love it. It was like $45 shipped. The only drawback is it's cold as hell in the winter but they have leather too.

They do but it's not as much of an issue as the cold IMO. I don't think it's much worse than black leather but it does get hot. I just wanted something that would last forever.

If i could find a pistol grip that screwed on up and down instead of like a T handle, but at about a 60-70 degree slant towards the driver's side, i'd probably use it. But, i have yet to see one like that. I don't like how 4th and 5th feels on the straight up and down kind and i don't like 1st/2nd with a T handle.

Mine is straight up and down...

Looks just like this one. This is a Steeda handle.

Has a small allen head set screw to keep it from twisting on you. I have might rotated just slightly to the right, feels killer especially while shifting to 3rd

I know you said you are a cheap ass. But theres a guy on SVTP that is selling The infamous "Fuckin Fast" shift knobs for 110 shipped. pretty expensive but damn it they are cool and you can always take it off if/when you sell the car. First thing I bought for my 04 when I got it. Very good craftsmanship. He is makin them for 5spds and 6spds now.

Personally i perfer the t-handle it feels great but i also have mine turned just a bit to where the left side sits closer to the dash than the right does. It makes the 2nd to 3rd shift great.

T-handles are great for the street... a bitch to use when drag racing... I thought the same thing til I started beating my car at the track

I think for me, it bothered my wrists... Plus, it may be my shifter itself. When I had the T-handle... it was stupid close to my console part that come up. No matter where I turned it (unless straight back and forth) My shifter is very short. B&M Pro Ripper...

IDK... been such a long time. but I was a fan of the pistol grip once I felt it. Very natural to grab gears in. No matter how tight I made my t-handle, it would spin loose if I shifted it hard enough... I even put loctite on it once. I guess my right arm swelled up and turned green and tried to do the Hulk Smash on my T5, lol
