Im bulding a 331 stroker and finally got to the point where i have to start putting together my top end. So I need some help deciding whether to go carbed of fuel injected. the car is going to be driven daily and im a little leary of going carbed, but overall it would be cheaper and less headache and more power. Also ive been looking at the tfs h/c/i combos does anyone have any direction to lead me?? thanks, zach

Cheaper/less headache/more power are all really dependent on the build. I just spent more on a carb than i thought i ever would. More power, that's debatable and you could also say that EFI often makes more torque because of longer intake runners. Less headache, well how much do you know about carbs? If you know more than EFI then yeah it'll be less headache, but if you're the type who will just take it and get it tuned and drive it then maybe EFI is for you, especially if you plan on driving it year around.

go efi ... throw on a eddy victor 5.0, trick flow heads, then i will give you my cam part # and call it a day ... see sig for results ... (by the way thats not powershifting either) ... throw on another 2 mph and 2 tenths with a good tranny ...

Just a thought, but if this is a DD then I am sure you would be thinking about efficiency. One of my oldest friends who claims to be "old school" finally admits that while in his opinion he can make the same HP with a carb setup as one can with an EFI setup, admits that there is no way he can get his setup to match the fuel efficiency of EFI. While his 351 Cleveland makes about 580 (est.) at the crank and my 281 modular only makes 487at the crank (est.), he gets about 6-7 mpg highway where as I get 21 mpg highway. He runs 373:1 gear to my 355:1 gear. He runs N/A and I am running F/I (6.5 psi). We are making on ratio about the same HP per liter of displacement, yet his fuel consumption is 3 times mine for only a gain of 100 HP overall. Talk to the boys at Cincyspeed. Paul408notch could give you some direction as well. He knows windsors and EFI.
