Why do people bitch and moan about being flat broke, or in debt to their eyeballs and/or unemployed, but every other week they talk/brag about the things they just bought? Some of the stuff I hear kills me! One week it's..."I'm so broke I couldn't afford a wooden dick for a hobby horse...", the next week it's..."Hey! check out my new supercharger!"...WTF?

I'm broke most of the time, but when tax return rolls around i blow that shit. This year i spent about half of it on bills and then bought some toys. If you don't do a little for yourself sometimes, especially if you ARE broke most of the time, you'll go insane. Or at least that's my take on things. I'd never spend money on stupid shit if my kids were in need, but you're always gonna have bills. You gotta give back to yourself every now and then especially if all you do is work/sleep/work/sleep and never have any entertainment.

I fell on hard times and had to sell everything, two mustangs, an airplane (not an RC model!), a motorcycle, and countless tools and shop equipment just to keep going. Am I bitter? No...I did what I had to do to keep my head above water. I work 60 hours a week usually and STILL don't have any toys yet. That's alright, my child support is paid every month and we just bought a house.

I am also socking some money away for something called "retirement". Just because I have a twenty in my pocket doesn't mean I gotta spend it.

I know the toys will come in time again....but my priorities are with my kids and family right now.

First off i never came on here asking for donations. Bobby is the one that started the thread about donations not me. i didnt come on here saying im broke bla bla bla i just said that i had cancer and was off work and it was rough and didnt know what i was going to do. then bobby started that thread. yea i asked for help a couple times because i couldnt put brakes on my van cause i had 60 plus staples in my stomach and i couldnt do it and my wife was 7 moths pregnant and i didnt want her driving it sorry that upset you. i had the surgery on 11-05 returned to work on 1-6 90 days after the surgery you think you could do that? i skipped the chemo against doctors orders cause i had to go back to work to support my family. i took a loan on my car to pay the medical bills and such and managed to pay it back in full 2 weeks ago. again i didnt come on here asking and begging for help. i wasnt even going to reply to this thread because i couldnt believe people where upset about helping another person out hey but thats cool if thats how you feel. as far as i am concerned i have said all i have got to say about this take it how you will. oh and for everyone that helped thank you.

I had emailed Bobby and let him know I wanted to buy your Thanksgiving dinner. I also told him I didn't want you and your family to know where it came from. I didn't want anything said to anyone. I was supposed to meet up with Bobby, and he was supposed to deliver the food to your house so that I would remain anonymous. This entire situation is much the reason why.

Well, Bobby's car broke down and he couldn't make the trip. I had not planned on the over 1 hour trip from my house to yours, especially since I didn't even have a running car at the time. Because I didn't have a car, and had not planned on it, it took me a few days to work out delivering the stuff. Still almost a week from Thanksgiving, I started getting texts from Bobby saying that you were calling him wanting to know where your food was. So, still 3 days from Thanksgiving I had my mom drive me up to your house.

Now, I obviously wasn't looking for anything in return, or thanks, or anything else since my original effort was to remain entirely anonymous. However, most of what I heard when I got there was all about how worried you were because it took so long to bring the food. I'm sorry but, the last thing I would do when someone brings me $100 in groceries (not all from me btw) is bitch about them being late, especially when you still had 3 days. The whole deal really kinda soured me on this kinda crap. I've wished I hadn't delivered them myself, and spared myself the regret. I've actually apologized to the people who gave me money for you, for my bad judgment in asking them to help.

You should have been humbled by the generosity of the people on this board. I've personally been humbled by less kindness than you were shown. Your response a few posts back about what a wonderful responsible person YOU are, is again, not the proper response to people who helped you. At this point the best thing you could do is apologize and say thank you.

Oh, and Bobby told me that you guys discussed posting the thread before he did it. So, I don't think you can really cast all that on Bobby. You agreed to him posting it, so it's kinda like, "I'm Chadomac and I approve this message."

First off i never came on here asking for donations. Bobby is the one that started the thread about donations not me.

i didnt come on here saying im broke bla bla bla i just said that i had cancer and was off work and it was rough and didnt know what i was going to do. then bobby started that thread. yea i asked for help a couple times because i couldnt put brakes on my van cause i had 60 plus staples in my stomach and i couldnt do it and my wife was 7 moths pregnant and i didnt want her driving it sorry that upset you.

Don't forget the threads about porting, and building a table for the slot cars that were given to you !!! And then not 2 weeks after christmas you were talking about buying heads !!! :rolleyes:

And BTW I'm going to take Hardcore's word for what he said !!! He is one of the guys that went out of his way to help me ( who he didn't know other then on here) And stayed on the side of 75 with my 18 year old nephew ( who he had never met)until midnight, Took him to get parts, Stayed and tried to fix the car, Helped push it on the trailer, And then followed us to the next exit to make sure the car was secure !!!

Was no problem man. I'm always happy to help when I can. But, I wouldn't expect anyone to take my word for anything really. I've been pretty irritated for all the same reason others have I guess. Just finally took the opportunity to say it. It's not like I'm even mad. I just felt stupid, and didn't appreciate it at all. There are people out there that probably really needed that food, and certainly even people who didn't need it that would have been more appreciative of it.

I dont buy toys unless I can pay for it in full. (no credit) If there is something I want, I will save every penny I can until I can afford it. So it might seem like Im broke because I dont go out to eat and stuff but I dont camplain that Im broke either.

For the third time in about 2 months i have seen this big black lady with hair extensions and 3 inch nails in Wal-mart getting food with her welfare card and takes her groceries out to her Cadillac Escalade. Those people are what piss me off!

I think if you're on any kind of assisted living because of being low income there should be a mandatory drug screen each month to be eligible.

Other than 26 weeks of unemployment which was funded by the employer that terminated me unjustly, I never took any handouts from the government.

Could have I gotten food stamps, yes.
Could have I gotten free medical, yes.
Should have I used those services, yes.

But I was raised that everything is earned....not entitled.
