So this past Saturday my son calls me and says State Patrol was just at the house. I say O.K., why. He says they have a plate number that comes back to a black mustang at this address. My son says the trooper said they have numerous accounts of loud exhaust and erratic driving down my street. So at this point the trooper has my son start his 4 cyl and he says to my son that it's definitely not his car. So he then asks for me and my son told them I wasn't home. He asked if I owned one that was black and he said yes but it doesn't run. So now right away I have my suspicions of who it was that called the cops on me. We have some neighbors that just moved in a few months ago. So I have a friend that works for state patrol and I call her. She tells me that it was a female that just moved into a house back in the lake. That's all she could tell me. This female also claims that I have lost control of my car everytime I drive down the street. I am ffumeing now and thinking WTF. I will be the first to admit that my car is pretty loud and I have been working on it in my garage late at night lately but I haven't driven my car anytime up or down my street where I have lost control or even came close to losing control. So now I am assuming it was the people that just moved in next door to us that called. And she probably used her cell phone so they couldn't trace the call to an address and she just said she lives back in the lake to try to keep the peace. But I say what a coward. They have seen me outside on numerous times and if they had a problem they could've very easily said something. So with all that being said I have a problem with them that I have been meaning to address with them for awhile now. Way before any of this crap happen this weekend. I just haven't had time to go over and say something to them. They have 2 dogs and one stays tied up and they leave the other one lose all the time. Well that dog has been coming over into my yard ans shitting on my deck and all over my front and back yard. He has also been urinating all over my deck and garbage cans. He also goes around into the back yard and eats my outside dogs food all the time. Last Monday when I came out to leave for work he was crapping in my front yard and when I told him to get and go home he stood his ground for a second and growled at me but I then picked up the snow shovel and went towards him and he took off running back home. So now I am at the point, do I go over say something to them or do I just do what I think they did and just call the cops. I dont want to start no shit and I am not trying to get even with them either. Like I said I have been meaning to say something for awhile now and I haven't. But I am tired of cleaning up their dogs shit and I cant afford to feed a 3rd dog.

I would leave the cops out of it for now, especially since you aren't 100% sure that's who called you in. I would (try to) have a civil conversation about their dog and see how that goes, and not mention anyone reporting you...for now. You never know...you may end up breaking the ice and becoming good neighbors, or it could go really fucked up, and escalate to the point of needing a cop to intervene.
Either way, good luck!

Btw...LMFAO @ your Kermit!

I'd call animal control for now and anonymously report an unrestrained animal at their address. They will come out and issue a warning the first time and then if it continues to be a problem, call them in again. It's at least an $80 ticket for the owner of the animal, as well as additional fines if the dog isn't up to date with license, etc. If nothing else it may stop the dog from doing its business in your yard. If they don't respond to that you can always pick up all the crap on the yard, put it in a bag, and leave it on their front porch for them to find.....lol

I agree... I'd atleast make a call to someone so it's on record before you try anything.

You need to start putting up "TRESSPASSERS WILL BE SHOT, SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN" signs ALLLL over your property... and add a little note underneath them all saying, this includes DOGS!!

I'll join ya in the black car!! I offered to do the same thing to waste the rest of my drag radials!!

Talk to them first, leave out the OHP visit. If that doesn't work I've got a live capture cage you could use to start your own animal relocation program...

Im lucky enough to have good neighbors.
except the couple that fights at 100 dba at all hours of the night.
and the one that complained to her daughter about me plowing her sidewalks and in front of her house-for free.

well I guess I just have neighbors..

My $.02 !!!

I would not confront them on it !!! Reasons why ...
If it wasn't them, Then you have created an issue with another neighbor ...
If it was them, They are going to want to know how you found out ... More issues
Creating more problems with people you have to live near for who knows how long ???

I would also be very careful as to what you do in and on your car ... Video cameras are something that almost everyone has now, And all they need is a tape of you doing anything considered "Illegal" and you could have more problems !!!

I know the first reaction is to go DESTROY a new set of D/R's in front of their house !!! But again refer to the above !!! LOL

And another of my Grandpa's lessons was " Fences always make better neighbors " Everyone knows the boundries, And it helps with the pet thing !!!

Again just my $.02 ...

Well we have a fence and the dog goes around the fence out onto the street and then down my driveway. As far as confronting them on the whole car issue was not my plan. I am wanting to confront them on their dog shittin in my yard and eating my dogs food. I had no intentions of even bringing anything up to them about my connections with state patrol and my out of control jumping 4 ft ditch lines down my street with my car. I was just wondering what my approach should be on this. Confront them myself or call the law and report the dog? I hate to tell these people but if they think my junk is loud they are in for a rude awakening here in a couple months when the tractor pulls start up right up the street. And they run till like 2:00 in the morning sometimes. Boy I cant wait for that to happen. I still need to test my 2 step as well and make sure it's working properly both with backfire and without backfire. I think when I test it with backfire I will make sure ass end of car is facing neighbors house. I will do this in the afternoon though on my property. I guess I just dont understand what happen to the old confront someone if you have a problem. That's what burns my ass up and then to go out of your way and lie about stuff to make it worse than it really ever was.

I try really hard to stay civil when i'm driving through our neighborhood...just trying to be respectful. Sometimes the itch gets the best of me and i have to drop the hammer in 2nd and fry the tires past these buttholes T'ing off on the golf course because i can't stand their little plaid pants and their stupid looks. All in all people have been pretty cool about my car where i live. Most people are more interested in knowing what's under the hood than anything else.

I think you need to go knock on their door and kill them with kindness. Explain to them the problem and how you believe it is best to be neighborly and respectful to each other so you wanted to talk to them about the dog and not call the authorities. That will either make them feel like shit for calling the police on you or keep them guessing whether or not you know it was them. I would keep a smile on your face the whole time and be very polite. They will either change their tune on your car and realize you are not a bad guy and not bother with you anymore or they will continue to be asshole in which case you just unleash hillbilly hell on their ass.

Well I have a gravel driveway so I cant do that. And I have not once done anything stupid around my house or their house out on our street. Now I have burned out down at the end of our street which their is nothing down their but a field but never up by my house. I have one more phone call to make to a friend of mine to find out if anyone across the street from him has moved in lately. I am just curious to know how they got my plate # when I haven't had the car out around them to see it and I haven't passed them out on the street either to he best of my knowledge. I am beginning to think that the whole plate # is BS because if the trooper had my plate # then why did he ask my son to start his 4 cylinder when his plate doesn't even come close to matching mine. My theory is they know I have a black mustang and they know my address because its on the mail box. So they called the police and gave them my address and description of the car and the officer just said he had the plate #. Kenny I think I am going to use your logic on this one and be Mr. Niceguy until that doesn't work no more and then the game is on. I also run Fire and EMS out here in Sardinia. I am always courteous and wait until I am down to the bottom of the street before I use my siren if it's late. But just maybe I need to fix a problem with my siren in my driveway that just might take a few hours to do. And state law says if your running your lights you must use your siren. So just maybe I should start obeying the law and turning on my siren at 2A.M right out of my driveway. And ohh shit I forgot something so now I need to turn around in their driveway with the lights on and 200 watt siren going to town.

My OLD neighbors used to have a big dog that would run all over and crap up my yard, front and back. I gathered it up into a pile one time and waited for them to come home. when I saw them coming down the street I got my shovel and started flinging it at the front of their house. It was sticking to the front door and siding and all over the front walk. I nicley explained that i was returning their dogs poop to them and if they dont do something about it I would cut up their damn dog and fling little pieces of it at their house next time. They dont live there any more. lol They moved about 3 months later. Now I would not have touched the dog. I love dogs, but the shock and fun factor of screwing with these ass hats was pricless.

Yeah their oldest boy who looks to be maybe 12 or 13 stands in the driveway and looks everytime I do drive by so I think I have his approval but he doesn't matter. Not trying to profile but the guy looks like he could be a cop himself or maybe he's in the reserves or guard. He is a younger looking guy 20-early 30's and wears a high and tight haircut and is clean shavened. It wouldn't surprise me if it was him that stopped at the house if he is indeed a trooper. I need to get both of my boys out the next time he's out and see if it was. If it was indeed them that called it's funny how it was a female and not him. Something else I find funny is I was watching him ride his 4 wheeler in his backyard yestarday without a helmet. And the minute I walked outside he drove up to his Jeep and put his helmet on. I think I am going to lay low and let the snow melt and get his dog on video first or get some pictures and then I am going to make my smileing visit to them.

I agree, try the civil approach first. You might be surprised at the response (positive) you get.

With regard to the noise complaint, though likely blown out of proportion, and clearly trumped up with regard to the the reckless op charges, are you absolutely positive you have been a respectful neighbor, or have you been working on your car into the late hours of the night open header and revving the engine? While the complaint on you was clearly way out of line, so as well may have been your actions with regard to disrupting the peace at late hours, assuming you were working on the car with it running after say 9:00 PM at night. Just a thought though you may very well not like it.

Had you been my neighbor I guarantee I would have been over to see what kind of beast lurked in the garage and I would have been glad to even lend a hand in helping you get it running, or at least stand around and listen to it run up to a point, but I would have asked you to shut it down after 9:00PM and show respect to others wanting to have a quiet evening. :bigthumb

Well I will admit I have had the car started after 9:00 P.m. I have had it started as late as midnight. But I have had the door shut and I have walked up my drive and into my house and you can no longer hear it.My garage is closer to my house then theirs. I have not revved it up. My problem I am troubleshooting is actually a problem with the idle not reving. And I have full exhaust but I do run single chambers with longtubes and a X pipe. My car at an idle outside is quieter than some of the kids that come thru here all hours of the night with their bass thumping and some of the diesels that come thru here all hours of the night. I'm not saying it makes it right for me I just don't think that's there complaint. I think it's a day time thing and they can hear me a mile away when I am out of the area and getting on it. I was screwing with the car Saturday afternoon and he didn't look thrilled why he was home.

Sure sounds then like you have some whiners then Steve. You are clearly being civil about your maintenance work sounds to me. As for the dogs, if the civil thing there doesn't work, I agree then with Sean, get out the shovel. I had to finally do like Sean. After talking to him three times in three weeks, I first collected the crap in a pizza box and set it on his retainer wall (10 lb's of dog piles). Unfortunately he still did not get the clue so the shovel came out again. This time the piles landed on his BMW and in his Jacuzzi. That got his attention. No further crap issues, and he did finally start being friendly again the following Spring when I took him a 6 pack of Harp Beer to wish him a happy return to Spring. :D Good Luck!

One of our neighbors has a really loud Harley, he revs it up outside from time to time, but I don't bitch, I like it! Lol! But apparently he's not made some people to happy here either. As long as he's not doing it around one o'clock in the morning or something, I don't see the big deal. Now when it comes to my neighbors with the surround sound pulsating through my walls, then I have a problem, especially with a newborn here at the house!

You can't hear my car in the house. My garage sits 200 ft away from my house and about 500-600 ft away from their house.

I have some new neighbors that raise dogs .When its warm I like to ride a bicycle to get some exercise . Last year I was riding by and she was outside and she let the dogs run at me untill they were about twenty feet away and she blew a whistle and they stopped . The next day I took my 380 along and when she stood there and clearly let them run at me again I pulled the gun she seen it and started screaming and trying to bet the whistle from her neck . I put two shots in the air and the dogs retreated . Her husband soon met me down the road and I explained that had my daughter or wife had been with me I would have not shot in the air that I may bring a flare gun and send one in his new barn . I have lived in the neighbor hood for 12 years they are now on there second I explained to the local popo that there are leash laws for a reason and if my wife or daughter were to be bitten I would not be so nice the next time .She told the popo that she thought I was a teenager looking for trouble . I am a chubby 41 year old man with slightly greying hair . I sent her a coupon in the mail for eye glasses . They no longer even drive by my house . I guess I will see how it goes this year .

I often act before I think so this kinda stuff goes on in my life everyday . Whatever you choose to do be ready for what may follow . Ask some of the other neighbors if the dog hits there yard as well get them on your side then light them up .

Well we finally got to meet the neighbors last night. I walked outside yesterday afternoon to get something out of my truck and I noticed a small fire in my neighbors back yard. I didn't think much of it because they always burn stuff. So the wife and I get in her van to head to Hillsboro for a soccer game. We take off down the street and my wife tells me to turn around. I said why. She says I think the neighbor's house is on fire. I said who gives a shit!!! So I back up the street to their driveway and sure enough there are flames shooting 10ft in the air across the top of their deck on the house. So I tell the wife to call 911 and I took off running to the fire. It started out as a trash can fire and then got into their deck. They had a big Rumpke trash can sitting up against the deck that somehow caught fire. They were not home at the time and hadn't been home for several hours before this happened. I managed to get most of it under control with a rake by the time the fire department got there. So last night after we got home from the game we stopped by their house to talk to them. Turns out they are a very young couple(20's) that are very nice people. They were wondering why part of their deck boards and railing were all charred. And why there was burnt trash all over the back yard. They claim they dont know what they had in there that could have caused a chemical reaction to start a fire. But they were very thankful for us taking care of it. So she asks me which neighbor I was and I pointed over to our house and said the noisy neighbor with the black mustang. She said ohhh o.k. I said I hope I haven't been bothering you guys with the racket and noise the car makes. They both said absolutely not this is the country out here not the city. So right away I'm thinking BS you guys called the cops on me. So I told them if I am ever bothering you guys feel free to yell at me. They both say they are never home during the week. They both travel with their jobs. I said yeah I always see different cars in your driveway all the time. She said her mom and dad or her sister and her boyfriend stay over there during the week to take care of the dogs and rabbits. So now I am wondering if perhaps it was her sister or mom that called the cops. I do know the day I spun the snow off my tires as I left the driveway they were not home but some other lady was out front with a little boy that appeared to be maybe 4 or 5 yrs old and she grabbed him as I drove by. Short time after that state patrol is at my house with a complaint of loud exhaust and erratic driving. I just assumed that was our new neighbor but I guess it was her sister and her kid. After meeting them last night I know for a fact the lady that was out in the yard that morning with that little boy wasn't the neighbor. So sorry for the long story but that is the update on the new neighbors.

Laws against vicious animals in Ohio are pretty favorable for defense. If you have reasonable fear of life, you can drop those dogs, DRT. Then tell the popo the next time she sends her other dogs after you, you will press charges. ;)

Legal disclaimer: Randomly discharging a firearm in the city is a no-no and makes responsible gun owners look bad. A neighbor kid ended up with criminal charges, 60 days in juvie and a large fine doing stupid stuff like that. Please make sure you have a reason to shoot and next time you had best be hitting your target not firing "warning shots in the air". A .380 can travel 75+ yards under the right conditions.

I live out in the country about 10 miles from any town so I dont have the City laws to worry about . There are only 8 houses on my road which is over a mile long .On a side note I did dust the bike of the other day I just now gotta build my self back up for the long hauls again but the bad thing is the .380 was a cheap gun and is not not operable . I guess I may need a shotgun holster for the Huffy .
