I'm getting alot of moisture in my engine. Its bad enough that I'm afraid its going to cause some damage. This is on my 347 with a Victor EFI intake, so there is no pcv valve. I have -8an bungs welded to both of my valve covers for vent and they run to a baffled catch can with a breather. Is anyone else here venting their engine the same way and having this problem?

The moisture collects inside the valve covers were the vent holes are. I have changed the oil twice since this has been going on and I havn't had any coolant come out of the pan. The cooling system holds good pressure so I dont think I have a leak anywhere. The oil cap always has clear water droplets on it after the car has been running. Maybe its just the cold weather? Seems weird though. I have never had this happen on other cars. Atleast not to this extent.

In these pics you can see where the milkshake shit is collecting right at the vent holes. Its really thick to.

I think its the weather. My f150 did the same thing the other day. I just wiped it off and went on with my day

The catch can fills with water pretty fast to. Makes me wonder how much water is getting in the oil pan.

But not milky? I always would get moisture in my bike when it would sit over the winter and would take getting it good and warm and even ridden a time or two before it would go away.

Fairly normal...if you drive it for a while it will evaporate.

No, I changed it before it got to that point.

yeah then I'd say its just normal condensation. Just beat it and it'll dry it out..hahaha

Well I did another pressure test this time with the car warmed up, and it has a leak somewhere. I can't see it being a head gasket. Hopefully just the intake or timing cover or something simple like that.

even if the intake or timming covor was leaking it would be exclusivly on the valve covors, i think it is just condensation. if u are getting a leak down on the presure test id also try another tester and verify before u start taking stuff apart.

That makes me wonder if it leaks down when warm

Everything is fine just a leaky timing cover gasket. Thats what I get for not using the locator dowels. I have got away with not using them in the past but this time it bit me in the ass.

What dowels did you use? All of the holes are threaded and I didn't even know there were dowels you could use. I just put mine on today and used a small bead of black silicone all the way around the cover, then put the gasket on, then put the cover on. I put the balancer on hand tight and centered the front cover seal over the balancer and aligned it that way.

Its the bottom 2 bolt holes that get the dowels. The bolts go through them. You might be fine. They normaly seal without them.

Yeah thats exactly how my cap looked. I wonder if its just that the moisture builds up in those trickflow tubes because they are so tall and narrow. I did have a very minor timing cover leak, but I dont know if that even had anything to do with it. I havn't had a chance to drive it since I fixed the leak. Even if it does get milky again I'm just going to wait for warm weather and see if it goes away then.
