Many of you probably don't know it, But believe it or not I'm a Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 49 in Mechanicsburg ... LOL

Tomorrow is our 1st Annual PineWood Derby !!! We have just recently had enough interest and new scouts to host our own !!!

This is the first one Kevin and I have participated in ... Anyway I'm definately not a wood worker, But we tried !!! LOL

Here are some pics !!! We had a last minute "Accidental Dropping" by our 20 month old of one of the cars !!! And it happened to be mine !!! LOL

Here was a pre-cut kit that we just painted and put the wheels on ...

And we wanted to see if aerodynamics played a factor ... So we took an un-cut kit and put wheels on it !!! LOL We will see !!!
My son said it reminded him of the big rolling turd from RV !!! So that's the theme he went with !!! LOL

As a former pinewood derby champion of pack 75 in mason, oh...Tell me you gutted the front underbelly , and melted down some lead weights. Dont forget the graphite for the axles (or nails).;)...Looks great Aaron good luck.:bigthumb

Yeah the graphite always worked wonders on the nails and so did the lead weight in the belly! Brings back memories!

Thanks Mike !!! :bigthumb
I don't have a scale, So I'll have to do my final weighing tomorrow morning, But there is plenty of lead in my tool box !!! LOL
And if you notice the "Big Rollin Turd's" wheels you can see the graphite !!!

I'll post pics tomorrow evening when we get home ... I've only seen pics of his track, But it is one they use it at the State, Regional, And National Events ... Digital timers, Cameras for replay, etc ... Not like when I was a kid !!! LOL
