i have been on an endless search to find a good tranny to be able to shift at 7000. i found a t 10 tranny and i wanted to know how hard the swap would be into my 86 fox,

i understand that i may have to change the clutch for the different spline and the yoke, but im worried about crossmember, drivshaft length, speedo gear, bellhousing, ect.ect.

any input could be helpful, thanks

old 4 speed tranny

Quick search yields driveshaft will need to be about 2-3" longer. Seems it has been done before. Crossmember will need changed and likely the trans tunnel opened up a bit to clear the shift rods.

The Borg Warner T10 is not a very strong tranny . If you want a old school 4 spd find a top loader . The toploader has the same 10 spline input as long as you do not get one with the 1 3/8 input shaft and they will take a beating .

Plenty of guys have this combo, get hold of Don Pearson (elcamino) on the UMTR board, he builds T-10's as strong as I have seen.

My dad has a Pro shifted Top Loader in his 85. Stay away from the t10's unless its a super, Even then shifting at 7000 you are going to destroy gears.

Yes Don is the guy to talk to. I'll try to PM you his Number. He has tons of parts and alot of pro shifted and face plated stuff.
