4th gear is direct drive

I just went through the same thing and both my input shafts went out....... longer you wait the worse it gets..... I lost 1,2,3,5, driving home from work..... good luck

The input shaft is either not shimmed correctly, or your needle bearings have failed in the back of the input shaft. that is the only set of bearings that work in all gears except 4th, when it locks the input and output shafts together. Pitbull is right, get it out asap and get it either shimmed properly or the bearings/output shaft replaced.

Who locally can do this type of work?

Dayton Performance, we've got most of the parts in stock for these transmissions, and if we need something, we are a Tremec preferred dealer so we get them next day usually. 937-396-2946

I had transman do mine he did a great job again it shifts better than it did when it was new. you'll wanna have this checked before it goes, the shafts alone are 350, bearing kit is another 100

thanks alot guys. i appreciate all the helpfull info. unfortunatly i do not have the money to have this rebuilt. work is extremely slow right now. but i have a friend that said he will trade me a t5 for this trans so i might have to go that route.
