I want to put white faced gauges in my 94 GT. Should I buy a new cluster or just get one of the cheap inserts? I have never installed one of the inserts. Are they worth messing with? What kind of clusters/inserts have you guys had good luck with?

Thanks

I have yet to do mine on my '94, but I did do them on my '01 GT which I think is similar. Get the "sheet" and install them that way. Very easy to do unlike the fox body gauges. All you do is remove the cluster, undo a few screws, pull the needles off and change the background sheet that represents the gauges. Put the new white one in and replace all the needles and screws. I think it took about 30 minutes or so for me to do mine.

Do the needles just pop off?

They just pull off at the base. I did not use any special tool, although I think they do make one which might make it easier...and safer.

I've used 3 kits from whitegauges.net now and they work great. You dont even have to pop the needles off, just slip the new faces over the needle's, so you dont get them wrong when up put the needles back on. I do reccomend getting LED bulbs if you get an overlay kit though, they dim your lights. As for a special tool, they do make em, I have one. I would also reccomend trying a fork, works on the same principal...

Ok, thanks. I will probably go with them. Only 20 bucks on their site!
