I'm debating on what I want to do at this point as far as my exhaust goes.

Mac is the only company who makes a set of headers for my car and my specific setup for any reasonable amount of money. $349 + shipping.

The problem is the quality and I'm guessing this isn't something they have in stock and they have been known to have customers waiting months for some hard to get items. The other problem is with the fitment. Sure, they're for a 351w with a set of high ports in a fox, but I'm running a 1" drop k member as well as drop motor mounts. That's a good 1.5" of height difference and that could seriously hurt fitment. I'm thinking steering shaft and ground clearance could be some major problems, if they even fit at all.

My 2nd option is to go ahead and have a hotside built. With this setup, I know (well pretty sure) it will fit, and I'll be running it Rick93coupe style:

The issue here is obviously cost. I'll be looking at a good $649 for the headers and crossover, then another $260 for a 3" dp or $360 for a 3.5" dp.

I hate spending money twice, but I am looking at about a $600 cost difference and that means getting the car out a few weeks quicker also.

Or maybe someone knows of a company that makes a "cheap" set of shorties for my setup? I'm not having trouble finding 351w swap headers or headers for high ports, but when combined, yea....

What do you guys think?

if it were me i think that i would spend the money once and get the hotside exhaust done that way you don't end up paying over 1k for two different setups. that's if you have the money though.

I just spoke with Mac tech support also, and they said there is no way those headers are going to work with the drop mounts and k member. Sounds like it will have to be custom exhaust either way sooooo sounds like hotside it is.

What about a set from B&G turbo?

I was just talking to Brian at B&G last night, and he said he has a hotside for a 351 in a Fox with Highports coming back in within a day or two. That could be an option for you. Don't know how much he'd charge for it, but it might be worth a call.

No shit??? Thanks for the heads up!!! I just called him a left a voicemail.

I actually spoke with Jeff at Pony Down yesterday, and he recomended buying his b series turbo headers without the crossover, and mount them up and see how they fit. The problem is that I'm dropping the motor 1.5" and then the high ports are raised .75" so I have stuff moving all over the place. Depending on how those fit, I would then buy the crossover and then make some kind of exhaust off of that to the catback to get it going now.

I'd recommend taking it to Tuffy.

Which one should I take it to?

The one where they don't put fake turbos on the car. hahaahahah.

I guess I can see some value in it, but why not just wait till you have the funds to do it all at once.

Left him a voicemail and haven't heard back.

That's odd. He seems to be on the ball most of the time. Every time I've called him, it's been after 4 or 5 PM and he picks up pretty quickly.

What number are you calling?

I just called the number on the website. 740-686-2897

He's said on a few boards that he usually isn't able to answer until after 4 or so, just because it's a machine shop and most of the time he doesn't hear the phone until after closing time. I had the best luck getting through at about 5:30PM.
