I have been ordering parts from an online business called RockAuto for years, usually with good results. I recently ordered 2 rebuilt, loaded rear brake calipers and 2 Centric rotors for my wife's 1990 Miata. The box showed up a few days ago. I got the car up on the lift Saturday morning, pulled the 2 rear tires and got ready to put them on. Luckly I hadn't removed any parts yet, and I decided to look at the calipers. I opened the first box and it looked fine. I opened the second caliper box and found these morons had sent me somebodys dirty, rusty old core. I looked at the rotors and found one was fine, sealed in plastic, the other one had been opened and handled. Hopefully, it hadn't been dropped .

More than a bit peeved, I called RockAuto and complained. I expected the guy to offer to overnight ship me a replacement. Instead, he says he's sending me a shipping label and just as soon as they receive the core they'll send me a replacement. This means I'll be lucky to get my parts in a couple of weeks from now.

The guy was totally un-cooperative. He even asked me if I was SURE it was a core instead of a rebuilt unit.

I told him I probably wouldn't order from them again and he just said, "Sorry you feel that way". What a tool.

What happened to the Customer is always right saying? I have noticed more and more lately that they just dont care about the customers they already have. I've heard the Sorry you feel that way thing before. Good luck on your order!

You can thank the stupid moron who scammed them with his old rusty core saying it didn't fit, most likely.

I will agree the CSR probably was having his day on the rag and unfortunetly he took it out on you. I would call them back and get someone else on the case.

I buy a bunch of things through rockauto however I keep it local on anything that requires cores. They are not concerned with how fast they replace your parts. They sent me a faulty spider injector for a 4.3 gm and it took about 3 weeks to get it replaced.

For about the last 15 years, it has evolved into "The customer is always worth listening to." The main reason for this is the fucking freeloading scammers that will go to great lengths to get something for nothing.

How do they (RockAuto), know you didn't keep the new caliper and are trying to fuck them with an old junk part? I understand the frustration, but you have to see it from both sides. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is unavoidable at times with online and mail order services. I hope you get your situation resolved in a timely manner.

Main reason I deal locally. It's a PITA if you have to return anything and a much longer wait. The extra buck is worth the extra customer service I get from Cincy Speed and others
