Whos at fault Beef?
How would you feel if...
Your Mustang ended up like this guy's. Somewhat funny, but I'd be livid.

edited for him,

he's an idiot for having a remote start on a manual car to start with, imo

as far as who's at fault, dunno, no my legal backround

but, 99.9999% of people would never think that if a car had a remote start, it's a manual

I'd say if it's after market remote start (which it should be) he is hosed. Like Beef said, you're not suppose to put them in car with manual transmission just for this very reason.

I like the people thinking he should and will get a NEW car. Obviously they never had to deal with a car being totaled out. This guy is screwed. Unless he had the car paid for he is prob out a car. Any money will go to the finance company if there is any left over he can have that and will have to start over. Sucks to be him. He should have made it VERY clear not to use the remote start when he dropped it off. My cobra had a sticky e brake. I went to Montgomery inn and asked the valet not to use the e brake. They remembered and even wrote it on the ticket. A lot of the fault is with the owner not saying 100 times.... Dont use the remote start.

Thats sucks really bad. I would be furious but I dont see the outcome in the owners favor....

I also want to know why when they parked the car, they didnt use the e brake?

thanks Beef.

Im thinking its the dealers fault. He stated the dealer hit the button to start the car... so they knew it had a remote start.

Also I rarely use the e brake unless I am on a hill or dont feel comfortable with where its parked. I leave it in 1st and thats that. I hate using the e brake. One more thing not to work or get stuck some day and really piss me off. I had an e brake cable break and I couldn't get it to release. That PISSED me off.

lol that would suck. I put my car in first and put the ebrake up usually. I guess i should start just putting it in first since i dont have remote start. lol

It will depend on the original work order for the alarm.

IF installed properly, the remote start would not have worked with the car in gear. If the installer told the owner about this and the owner stated he didn't want the safety switch, he gets to eat the car ab insurance might not cover it.

Dealer is NOT at fault....but also shouldn't have been playing with the remote start.
