Hi
Thursday the 8th Tom and I are getting our sn95's tuned at Cincy Speed. We both have ford small blocks.. dart blocks with Vortech blowers.

I have a 347 that made 520rwhp on the last block that blew. using pump gas tuned down ??

Tom has a 331 that made 570rwhp with a gas additive, Tom is getting a pump gas tune. :D

I now have 8.5 compression ratio had 9.1 or so, with 42# injectors.
Tom has a 9.0 compression i think with 60 # injectors

He has more compression and I have a few more cubes!!

Do I have a chance.. ??

Lower compression with more boost makes more power than higher compression with less boost. I don't think .5 of compression is gonna matter much though. The question is....who has smaller pulleys and the biggest set of kahunas? lol

What heads, what cam, both stick cars? same size blowers and same pulleys? both using the same intercoolers?. alot more too it then what you stated...

Same cam, same pulley, both stick cars.... same size blowers.. no inter coolers.. both TFS heads, both ported... He has larger fuel lines I have stock lines....

You need to get some 60's in that car before you tune it

Ya...your probably already on the verge of the limits of your stock fuel lines and rails. Fuel ='s power if you supply the air to it. I think your son wins the HP crown.

so in your opinion being the ones that tuned it and All. Pops fun said they were basically identical setups. whats behind the ~70 hp increase in toms car?

not sure why i got quoted for the reply? I'm just curious why two identical setups saw such a difference. did it run out of fuel?

Hi
First what a great group down at Cincy Speed!! Customer service extraordinaire..

Well... as you have guessed I lost and not by a little either.

I had 507 RWHp and 500 tq. :) I wasn't tuned at all, Adam did a base run and when checked it was perfect. Adam said I might eek a tiny bit more out of it but not worth the time... That is what I like an honest guy, that tells it like it is!
Thought I would make more but not to be.

Tom on the other hand made 573 RWHP and 546 tq. :D I was a little disappointed, to say the least. Thought he could have made it a closer race but not to be.

needless to say I will explore other options for horsepower... a meth kit, bigger injectors etc. Might be a while though... I will enjoy the safe tune and DRIVE THE CAR....

Again Craig and people are a great bunch to work with and and they have a couple more satisfied customers.

just got back a few minutes ago...

That little bit of compression helps.

He pulled about 3 more pounds of boost than me.. 14 # I might have to check pullies... ;)

3 lbs. of boost and the added compression could most certainly account for the extra power.

Steve the difference in fuel is definately helping also, that .5 point in compression is going to make power to. I think with more injector and fuel rail to support it you will be right there with him in power.

Hi all,

Big thanks to Craig & Adam at Cincy Speed!

I was very impressed with Adams strong desire to get the car tuned safely & correctly. He & the crew at Cincy Speed professionally worked through the problems that tuning a 94-95 car like mine presents, now with Adams help at 573hp & 565tq. Adam also sorted out several drivability problems I have had for several years.

The fact that the car makes as much power now on pump gas as it did before with a lot of additive is pretty damn impressive. Also gained almost 20tq all with very safe air fuel readings.

The overall value for the service provided was very high.
Great job & thanks again Cincy Speed!!!

Tom (best known as Pops son)

P.S. Also big thanks to you dad. For anyone that doesn't know your awesome.
Some more fuel & some boost & I think you be right there with me. I really going to enjoy finding out.
Love You

Still descent numbers Steve. You will need a new show board made for your showing setup.

I can hear it now. "My sons car made better numbers than mine", will be your new motto.

Another contributor/inhibitor, although not a major one, could be loose engine vs. tight engine.
