Leaving Covington around 8:15 this morning I ran against some of GM finest. I was a bit supprised that my little 92' Coupe hung in like it did against both of them. Especially from 60-100 repeatedly. Those cars move out on the big end better than foxes do. I was a tad quicker than both of them and met up with they guy that had the TA. He is a pretty cool dude. His car was bone stock aside from a K&N drop in. Stock for stock I would have been smoked more than likely. He said he was supprised that my car ran like it did and he usually spanks Foxes like they're tied to a tree stump. All in all it was a fun morning that's making my long day manageable :)

Sounds like you had some fun! The LS1 setup is a pretty perky even from a stock configuration. I know the previous LT1 was 275 HP (crank) but don't remember the number on the stock LS1.

underrated at 320hp... With ls6 intake ($300), full exhaust, and a tune you got damn near 350-360rwhp.

Most ls1s dyno high 280s to 300rwhp STOCK

No wonder I held in there. My fox is at least 400lbs lighter. That would explain it some. I figured I would have got my ass handed to me, hell, both the GM guys were as shocked as I was, lol.

I used to spank on bolt-on LS1 guys with my notch. I'm not sure what kinda mods you've got, but I'd recommend a top end package (h/c/i) and some tires. You'll be doing more than keep up with stock LS1's then.

My car runs with my buddys built 98 ta, 6.0 with l98 heads and all. We go from a dig, I leave at 3800, and hook! He feathers it and breaks em loose 20ft out lol. That cars a freakin beast on pump gas and motor! I keep telling him, suspension, tires, a good trans and some dope, he'll be seeing 11.0's 10.9's easy...

A good demonstration of the advantage of lightness--and a good driver.
