View Full Version : NHRA Unleashed races at Indy and Columbus

NHRA is having 2 of the 4 Unleashed races at ORP in Indy and National Trails in Columbus this season. They are having a 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, and 13.0 index classes along with the heads up outlaw style 1/8th mile classes at these events. I'm planning on running the 10.0 class with my car. One cool thing about these races...if you win...you get a Wally:cool1: Entry for the index classes is $50....$1000 to win.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Timido was talking about this on Sunday. Maybe I could make an attempt at the 13.0 index class.

Get some practice on a .500 pro tree......11,12,13 sec classes are .500 pro tree.

Anyone else going to the Indy race? I will be running in the 10.0 index class. They gave changed the schedule of the event so it will be a Friday/Saturday event. Tech and 1st round of Qual. on friday, 2nd round of Qual and eliminations on saturday.

I just got my ticket for the 10.0 class at Indy. Should be a good time pray for 80 deg weather.

Im signed up. I will make c-bus for sure indy is still up in the air depends on how joliet goes next week. If things go as planned in joliet there should be alot of pure street cars in in indy nobody wants to go to NC. for the nmra race i truley hope no cars show for NC.

Race is this saturday....2nd and 3rd round of qualifying..then eliminations. I know Timido and myself will be up there running in the 10.0 index class. Anyone else going to race or watch?

For the C Bus race, is Friday just test and tune then the event on Saturday?

Friday is t&t and 1st round of qualifying.

Race was run a little different than what I consider normal. We got 3 qualifying shots (1 on friday, 2 on sat). All that determined was if you were #1 qual in a odd number car field...you got the bye 1st round. They ran 1st round by just random pairing...basically how you pulled up in the lanes. Then the winners of first round (20 cars) they put on a sportsman ladder based off your first round et's...wierd...but you got lane choice by your qualifying spot.

I was #3 with a 10.012.....tim was #7 with a 10.017 I think. Very tight field...top 20 cars ran 10.10 or better.

I won #1 round on a double breakout....car kept getting faster all day. Lost 2nd round even though I had over a tenth on the tree on the other guy....car fell off some..plus I lifted just a bit to much on the big end....he got around me by .012.

Tim lost in the 3rd round on a very close race.

Each of the index classes had 40 pluss cars lots of tight racing for $50

Sounds like alot of guys brought their bracket cars out. Glad you both had a good race weekend.

Ahh, glad to hear you didn't break, or anything like that. They only listed the top ten cars, so that must have been later rounds.

You and Tim going to Columbus?

Jeff, I don't remember where I found it. It was just top 10 (Like Tim said). I thought maybe it was only a 10 car field. Then you stated that you did qualify, so it was a little confusing.

I just got my ticket I am going up Fri Early. Testing is 10am for $25! I guess everyone gave them enough crap about the $100 testing.
