i have a 88 lx with a 306 with 351 heads and a 303x cam with a 2 bbl carb that came on it the problem that im having is when ur really on it at about 4300 rpms it acts like it runs out of gas or u just turned the key off but after u let out of it it acts stupid for a min then straitens up can any one help with whats going on

I would think the carb is too small, try a 600cfm carb

yeah you need more carb and a 4 barrel intake i was running a 750 on mine and a 289 performer intake you need something the flows out to like 6500 thats where that x cam falls off

Why a 2 bbl carb? Sounds like a carb issue.

yea thats what im thinkin is the carb is to small like i said the only reason its on there is because it came on it and havent found a good deal on a intake and carb yet

Deff the carb, the stock motor it was built for probably never was intended to see 5k rpms. Toss a 650dp and a stealth on it and go rip some shit!
