I'm dealing with two of the biggest whiner assholes I've ever had to deal with. I'm in a union in cincinnati. Let me first say they have done nothing but good things in my eyes. There are few things I'd change if I was in charge but who wouldn't. Now to the story. I'm working in peebles so in I'm in a different locals territory. That's where the nightmare begins. Two of their guys have filed charges against me. I have to have a phone conference with them and their local tomorrow. They could try and fine me money if found guilty. Fuck them and their 1940 way of doing things. That's all I'm going to say for now. Will post more from my computer later. Let's just say its going to be interesting phone conference tomorrow.

Yeah dude fuck unions. I've been a part of 3 of them in my life. The first one was Mejier...yeah the grocery store. I worked there for 6 months and never once even saw a union rep...that's how tight that union was. The other two where at corrugation plants and one of them had their act together and the other didn't. Both had more downfalls than benefits, and both seemed to only protect lazy ass people from having to do more than the bare minimum of work.

I'm not bashing unions. I belong to one and like it. I'm just saying the local that I'm working in and their by laws are out dated and not with the times. They wonder why they have no work and have 350 people out of 425 members laid off. Ill explain the situation later when I get home.

Ok. I just cracked into a bud light so now I can vent. Like I said before. I'm in the union and love my job. Its me working in a different unions local that sucks. Now with me working in another unions jurisdiction I have to follow their rules. Simple enough. First rule. No outside contractors are allowed to work in there jurisdiction. Because of rule number one I'm not allowed to do jack shit for work. No working with tools, moving stuff around, or anything to do with pipefitters work. So right away I'm stuck as a supervisor doing jack shit. Since I cant work I swing by the shop a few times a week to pick stuff up. Well a few weeks ago the guy who runs things for me was sick. The other 3 guys show up to work and cant get in since myself and the sick guy are the only ones with drive on passes. The set around for 5 minutes and decide to leave since they know they should get 2 hours show up pay. Now they could have called me and I could have taken care of the problem with a phone call. They just want to fuck the system. Well since they want to go by the rules of two hours show up time so much I decide to go by there rules. No long breaks and no leaving early. We where leaving about 20 minutes early with them skipping a afternoon break. Well this pisses them off. Now they are nit picking on everything. Me picking up a tool, picking up a scrap piece of pipe, helping a guy working by himself carry a piece of pipe. They even bitched today because I brought them in 2 pipe fittings and off loaded them out of my truck. They are trying to fine me for these things. Could cost hundreds of dollars in fines. My boss says he'll pay them but its the fact that they are a bunch of fucks. Even if my boss doesn't pay them they will never get a dollar from me. What can they do? Kick me out of the union. Ha. I would just work non union and make just as much money. Maybe lose out on some benefits but so be it. I hope this job ends soon. Don't know how much more I can take. I'll post what happens tomorrow during the phone call.

That's exactly my point...most (not all) unions only protect lazy asses like that while hard workers get screwed by the rules as you are.

I hate the "bellyachers" in the unions always trying to get something for free.
Now look at our country today, same thing.
Certain people would complain when a supervisor would "lend a hand" to give someone a relief break saying them should get the overtime.....but then always bitching about having to work 10+ hours because we were short handed.
