Is it hard to slow your car down that much?

Not to bad I have to drive it a little different when it is real good air. Lots of things to control an index car ballast, timing, shift points, rpm chip, or you can lift when you need to or push the go faster button if needed. Lots of fun racing on a budget

Yes, and they do work. :) They're accurate to within 5lbs, so we are going to have a small grace on the weights.

Yep gonna give it a try myself...Know 2 others currently running in the 6.50 and 7.50 that 'll be there...Should make for a nice turn out... 1 Friend will have to eat crow as he said he'd never race at the hill again...But the 7.50 class is just to hard to resist..:D:lol::lol::lol:...

LOL... well, we're glad he's gonna eat crow instead of not coming. We've got some winner cash that'll help the crow go down a little easier.

Hey, you're not talking about Brian are you?

Proud to announce Cincy Speed will be the title sponsor for the 6.50 and 7.50 Index classes, and MAC Tools will be the title sponsor of the 8.5 Outlaw class.

Thank you!

Kentucky Outlaw Racing Association postponing events at Thorn Hill Dragway

Morning View, KY, June 7th, 2010:

Kentucky Outlaw Racing Association regrets to announce that we are postponing planned racing events at Thorn Hill Dragway indefinitely.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, including a lack of cooperation from track owners and management and concerns about the willingness of the track to comply with contractual obligations, KORA is no longer planning on holding events at Thorn Hill Dragway for the duration of the 2010 race season.

We are currently working on alternate locations and dates for future events.

# # #

Needless to say, I am not happy about this situation. I hope that we can come up with an alternative venue. We're going to be doing a lot of legwork in the next couple of weeks and hopfully will have some better news to announce soon.

Let me guess. No one down there understood the concept of heads up or index racing.

I'm just reposting what I posted on the Bullet a few hours ago.

Well, we have some good news. Most of this week has been taken up with talking to other tracks and figuring out what the best way to regroup is.

We have a couple of really good possibilities with tracks in both Ohio and
Kentucky. The big stipulation is that we have Saturday night racing, so that's one of the details we're going to have to work out. We have a couple of meetings planned for this weekend...hopefully we'll have an official announcement to make early next week.

I do have one question for everyone out there:

What would be preferable...a monthly series at the same track every time, or a series that visited two or three tracks, maybe running races every three weeks or so? We were very excited about Thorn Hill because it's so centrally located...easy for the Ohio/Michigan guys, and easy for the Kentucky/Tennessee guys. Our other options are a little less convenient for some, so we were thinking about maybe running at two or three tracks instead. Thoughts?

I don't think we'll be able to race June 26th, but there WILL be a race in July.

I would think having the races at 1 track would be better than a rotating track series. Kelly tried the traveling series with OSM for 2 years....never seemed to be able to get a good following of guys willing to travel to far....especially your index racers. I'd try to keep the track within 1 1/2hr drive of the cincy area if possible. I'd love to see it at Edgewater...but then you would have to deal with Dick.

Most likely. We just have to work out some numbers and details. I hope to have an answer by Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'm not sure right now, honestly. I don't think the numbers are going to work with the local track, so I'm going to be exploring other ideas. Right now I think things are going to be on hold for a while. :(
